About the conference

The scientific conference entitled: Disciplinary cases of academic teachers – legal and economic problems and challenges – is organised by the Institute of Economics and Finance (Department of Finance) of The Warsaw University of Life Sciences in partnership with The Cracow Bar Association of Attorneys-at-Law on 1 June 2023 (remote mode). The conference is held under the honorary patronage of the Rector of The Warsaw University of Life Sciences and the President of the Polish Bar Council .

The aim of the conference is:

  1. To exchange scientific views and experiences on problematic issues of legal and economic nature related to disciplinary cases of academic teachers.
  2. To indicate the scope of legal regulations requiring amendment and to identify areas requiring the introduction of legal regulations on disciplinary matters of academic teachers.

The discussion will be held in three sessions:

I. Legal and economic problems in the disciplinary proceedings of academic teachers.

II. Appeal procedures in disciplinary proceedings for academic teachers.

III. Proposals for legislative changes concerning disciplinary proceedings for academic teachers – the conference will result in the preparation of a list of proposals for legislative changes concerning disciplinary proceedings for academic teachers addressed to the Minister of Education and Science.

The conference is dedicated to two groups of guests:

  1. Representatives of the academic community (including: deans authorities, institutes, faculties, disciplinary ombudsmen, chairmen and members of university disciplinary committees, university employees, other stakeholders – e.g. trade unions).
  2. Professional representatives for university teachers in disciplinary proceedings (attorneys at law and advocates).

Inviting you to participate in the conference, we also encourage you to use the online form to submit proposals for legislative changes in the subject of disciplinary proceedings for academic teachers.

Participation in the conference is chargeable (PLN 200 or PLN 100 – in case of registration of at least 5 persons from one institution) and requires registration until 5 May 2023.
